It was a research course though, was also the highest-standard and challenging courses I've ever known. We did an end-to-end individual project with the request from a real customer. The requirement and the effort we put in were almost similar to a degree thesis.
For my case, I defined my research topic in the field of Affective Computing about Speech Emotion Recognition for F-Secure SENSE, since the company had the interest to explore the technical support for home use AI voice interaction for this router.
